EUROPEAN PEOPLE’S PARTY (EPP)
The EPP believes that the economy should serve the people, not the other way around. They advocate for an ambitious, competitive and growth-orientated economy that can create jobs and provide a high standard of living for EU citizens. The EPP believes that a dynamic economy must be based not just on numbers and statistics, but on the skills, talents and innovation of all its people.
PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE OF SOCIALISTS AND DEMOCRATS (S&D)
The S&D envisions a sustainable economy that prioritises social justice, environmental protection, and economic prosperity. They advocate for policies that promote fair taxation, reduce inequality, and ensure a decent standard of living for all Europeans while fostering the economic autonomy of the EU. The group emphasises the need for a robust labor rights to protect workers and vulnerable populations.
RENEW EUROPE
Renew Europe believes citizens need to be at the core of the European Union. They defend that more should be done to bring prosperity and opportunities to everyone, by completing and deepening the Single Market and the Economic Monetary Union and delivering jobs, growth, stability and an environment where businesses, especially SMEs, can flourish alongside the employees.
THE GREENS/ EUROPEAN FREE ALLIANCE (EFA)
By 2024, The Greens/EFA aims to reverse the trend towards greater inequality of both income and wealth as well as the numbers of people at risk of poverty or social exclusion. They call for ambitious action in terms of tax justice, protecting the capacity of States to deliver social services such as education and health care from the logic of financial profit, and by enforcing decent work standards.
EUROPEAN CONSERVATIVES AND REFORMISTS (ECR)
The European Conservatives and Reformists Group advocates for a more flexible EU that fosters competitiveness and free trade. They are in favour of reducing barriers within the Single market, making it easier to buy and sell products within the EU by lightening regulation that the EU has applied to business, ensuring consumer rights and improving the basic infrastructure and accessibility of transport sectors.
IDENTITY AND DEMOCRACY (ID)
The Identity and Democracy Party advocates for not interfering with the private initiative and protecting European entreprises. They want European cooperation to be based on free and sovereign nations, with more democracy, transparency and accountability.
THE LEFT—GUE/ NGL
The European Left believes that austerity, privatisation and deregulatory policies in favour of big businesses must be opposed and stands for an economy that ensure a fair distribution of wealth throughout societes, countries and regions. They aim at prevailing EU economic doctrine and growing inequality by demanding better employment and social rights.
