Promoting academic exchange and specifically catering to the diversity of student needs is at the heart of an inclusive and affordable education. Because everyone deserves the same chance to make it in life.

Political Programmes

EUROPEAN PEOPLE’S PARTY (EPP)

The EPP believes in investing in lifelong learning and future-proof skills training to ensure that Europeans are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. The party aims to invest in education and skills-training schemes that are developed in close cooperation with member states to meet the specific needs of their citizens and economies.


PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE OF SOCIALISTS AND DEMOCRATS (S&D)

The S&D calls for a comprehensive approach to digital education and training, emphasizing free access, tailored learning formats, lifelong learning, and research and innovation. They also stress the need to ensure more participation of women in digital education, training and work, protect intellectual property and combat disinformation.


RENEW EUROPE

Renew stands for accessibility of quality education and training and the establishment of a European Education Area by 2025. They believe the recognition of diplomas, periods of study and traineeship opportunities in the different EU Member States, together with a strong network of European Universities plays a crucial role in finalising the single market. For them, it is essential to ensure that universities in the EU reach a high level of excellence.


THE GREENS/ EUROPEAN FREE ALLIANCE (EFA)

The Greens/EFA stands for the improvement of European education systems and the introduction of an European Child Guarantee so that by 2030 no child or youngster in the EU is at risk of poverty or social exclusion. They believe that climate change education should be the centre of a paradigm shift in which the whole of society takes part, with a special focus on children and youth, who will lead the change in future generations.


EUROPEAN CONSERVATIVES AND REFORMISTS (ECR)

According to the European Conservatives and Reformists Group, education must always be labour market-oriented, and in this light, vocational and lifelong learning are essential to developing the skills the modern labour market requires. They belive it is important to support companies that help their employees to develop the necessary skills.


IDENTITY AND DEMOCRACY (ID)

THE LEFT—GUE/ NGL

The European Left believes that public education is a vital public good that promotes democracy, social justice, and equality and be democratic, inclusive, mixed, coeducational and secular. Students should be educated also in social, emotional, and civic skills to help them become critical thinkers and responsible citizens. The European Left denounce the determination of the EU to impose the logic of neo-liberalism in education and research.
